Here we are at Imbolc, the mid point between December Solstice and March Equinox. It’s the beginning of the Spring season. Where I live, in the mild south east of England, this is evident. Buds are swelling. Birds are gathering nesting materials. There have been days where spring was definitely in the air. In the southern hemisphere, the opposite holds. Autumn is on the horizon.
The unstoppable forces of the seasons govern our lives still, and though we are less dependent on them for our food and warmth, they still hold great power over our inner landscape.
The dance between the Sun and Earth plays out endlessly. The northern hemisphere is opening, receiving more light from the sun each day, and more energy stirs and flows in the earth. We could say that the Goddess is on the rise. The feminine current of creation is expanding, bringing life back after the winter months. This is the breath of life. It expresses at planetary and personal levels.
We also have a full moon on the first day of February, which amplifies the energy of the Divine Feminine and announces February as a month of powerful transformation. On the 17th there is a solar eclipse, and this is the day of the Chinese New Year. A movement from the wood snake energy to that of fire horse. This shift will be marked. The whole of February is a powerhouse of a month, as we move from one paradigm to another.
There are many major astrological shifts taking place at this time. I would encourage you to do your own research around this. It can be really helpful to know even some basics of what is going on in the heavens. This can assist us in making sense of some of what we experience here on the planet. It is a time of extreme volatility, and becomes so easy to be swept away by the energies of day to day events. The world is tearing itself apart. Each of us faces different circumstances, and these are changing day by day.
We are asked to stay present and grounded in the bigger picture. The seasons and flows of planetary energy are a simple but profound way to do this. As we gather on this coming Sunday, we are invited by the Goddess Brigid to participate in a personal and planetary cleansing, which is a traditional aspect of Imbolc.
Along with this, a deep grounding into some of the big, stable currents within the earth. This is grounding for ourselves, but also for the planetary energies that are so combustible and unstable. As we ground ourselves, and are anchored into the more stable earth frequencies, we are able to receive and bring in some of the energetic architecture of the new earth which continues to unfold unabated. It can literally be downloaded through us and The Field we co-create.
We came here to participate in the creation of the New Earth. This is one of the ways we can do that. As we gather together, in person, or online, we form an energetic circuitry that can be used by corresponding frequencies. What we co-respond to and with depends largely on our focus. We have to be aware of this, and ensure that most of our focus is placed in what is real and everlasting rather than what is temporary and passing. No judgement here, no criticism, simply an awareness that our alignment becomes more important each day.
